About Us

BSSNC

The Big Sky Special Needs COOP (BSSNC)  is a special education cooperative providing special education related services to students in 5 counties across North Central Montana (Glacier, Lewis & Clark, Pondera, Teton, and Toole counties).

Children that may be in need of special education services are evaluated by a team of school and BSSNC professionals. The purpose of these assessments is to identify the specific areas in which the student may need help and if necessary to identify the student as a student in need of specialized instruction under the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Once a student is identified as needing special education, the school, BSSNC, and the parent of the student work together to create individualized education plans (IEP) that help students to be successful in school.

Related Services

Related services are provided if deemed necessary for a child to benefit from his or her special education program. They may include: Speech Therapy, Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Adapted PE, Assistive Technology, and Psychological Assessment.
